The following Terms & Conditions are adapted for Skogsro Forest Hostel and align with the general principles and standards of HI Norway. By making a booking and/or staying at Skogsro Forest Hostel, guests agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions, house rules, and any reasonable instructions given by staff.
Some rates or benefits may require a valid **Hostelling International (HI) membership**. Guests without a valid membership may be charged a non‑member supplement per person per night, in accordance with HI Norway guidelines.
* Bookings can be made online, by email, or via approved booking platforms.
* Payment terms depend on the chosen rate and booking channel.
* The hostel reserves the right to pre‑authorize or charge payment prior to arrival.
* Prices include VAT unless otherwise stated.
* Cancellation and modification policies depend on the rate booked.
* Free cancellation may be available up to a specified time before arrival; late cancellations or no‑shows may be charged in full or in part.
* Group bookings may be subject to special cancellation terms.
* **Check‑in:** From the time stated in the booking confirmation.
* **Check‑out:** By the time stated in the booking confirmation.
* Late check‑out may incur additional charges.
* Valid photo ID may be required at check‑in.
* Quiet hours **inside the hostel** are from **10:00 PM to 8:00 AM**.
* Quiet hours **in outdoor areas, including the bonfire area**, are from **12:00 AM to 8:00 AM**. * Guests are expected to behave considerately toward other guests, staff, and the surrounding natural environment. * **Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors**, and only allowed in designated outdoor areas.
* **Open fires are not permitted inside the facilities**, including candles.
* Fire is **only allowed at the marked bonfire spot** and must be used responsibly and in accordance with staff instructions and local regulations.
* Alcohol consumption is only permitted where allowed by Norwegian law and hostel rules.
The hostel reserves the right to terminate a stay without refund in case of serious misconduct, violation of rules, or illegal activity.
* Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian unless otherwise agreed in advance. * Age restrictions may apply in shared dormitories.
* Use of the **floating sauna on the lake** is available **on request** and subject to availability. * Sauna use may be subject to additional rules, time slots, or fees.
* Guests must follow all safety instructions related to sauna use.
* Pets are only allowed in designated rooms or areas and by prior arrangement.
* Guests are responsible for any damage or extra cleaning caused by pets.
* Guests stay at their own risk.
* Skogsro Forest Hostel is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.
* Lockers or secure storage may be available; guests are encouraged to use them.
* Guests are liable for any damage caused to property, rooms, furniture, or equipment.
* The hostel reserves the right to charge for repairs, replacement, or extra cleaning if required. ## 11. Force Majeure
Skogsro Forest Hostel is not liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, government actions, or strikes.
